Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American actor and musician who began her career with clever raps that tackled gender and ethnic identities from a the most comical of perspectives. Then she branched out into Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was a child of Chinese immigrants as well as Korean immigrants. Then, she started the classical and hip-hop genres. At college, she was studying the field of women's studies and journalism. Then, she even had an hour studying Mandarin at the University of Beijing. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until she completed her degree. Her track in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet eventually landing on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. On the album, there also were viral songs like Queef (body-positive) and NYC Bitche$1. This latter song was directly tied to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. After having a great career as a musician, she decided to take on the role of an actor. In addition to early television programs like Girl Code and Tawk, she's been featured in movies like Neighbors2Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018, her breakthrough performances included Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP came out in June.
