Leona LaurenLeona Louise (born 3 April 1986) is an British actor, singer active, activist, and actress. She was born and raised in the London Borough of Islington and was a student at Croydon's BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. Lewis was recognized as a national star as she won the third series on The X Factor 2006 and received a contract worth PS1,000,000 together with Syco music. The winner's song, the cover version song by Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This" which peaked at the top of the charts, reached first place for the duration of 4 weeks on the UK Singles Chart and broke an all-time record of the milestone of 50,000 downloads in just thirty minutes. In February 2007 Lewis agreed to sign a five-album deal with the United States with Clive Davis's record label, J Records. Lewis has continued to be successful by releasing Spirit which was her debut studio album. It sold 10x platinum certified in the UK. This album became the fourth-most popular album of the 2000, and it was also one of the best-selling UK albums. As per the Official Charts Company, Spirit is the most-sold debut album by female artists during the 21st century. "Bleeding Love" The lead single from the album, was No. 1 within the UK for seven weeks. It was also the UK's best-selling single. The single was the top-selling in 2008 and Lewis earned an award for her work, the Billboard Award for the Most Popular New Artist. In 2009 she released her second studio album Echo as well as recorded the title track, "I See You" to be used in the film Avatar. Lewis' single "Collide," was made in collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii as well as Hurt the EP. It was her debut extended performance. Her album Glassheart, her third studio effort, Glassheart (2012), was a departure in direction for Lewis taking inspiration from dubstep and electronic music. Her Glassheart Tour was in the middle of 2013, when she began to record material for her debut Christmas album. Later that year, Christmas with Love, which featured her lead single "One more night" was ranked third across the UK. This chart entry led to Lewis to be the first British solo female artist to achieve the top fivespots with eight singles. The singer also surpasses Olivia Newton John's record of seven.
