Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenHe entered the National Theatre School of Denmark at the age of 27. He graduated in 1995. He also appeared on The Killing, a drama series that was released around the globe. He then appeared in Those Who Kill II and Borgen III, two other popular Danish dramas. He also played an important part in Sherlock the series, a BBC drama where his character was Charles Augustus Magnussen, whose blackmailer. He played the Russian president in the American television series House of Cards. He was awarded an International Emmy Award for 2018 for his performance on the Danish drama on television Herrens Veje. It was shown in the UK in 2019 under the title Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is fluent in English, Swedish, German and Danish in addition to his mother tongue. He also has picked up different accents. According to Mikkelsen's account that he and his younger brother learned English by studying Monty Python records.
