Holden was born in Portsmouth in Hampshire. She spent the majority of her early years in Bishop's Waltham. When she was nine years old she joined the Bishop's Waltham Little Theatre Company. Holden is also a part of TV credits including three shows with Caroline Quentin and Chris Langham on the comedy Kiss Me Kate, three episodes of ITV's The Grimleys and Celeb With Harry Enfield on BBC, and the Boxing Day special Agatha Christie's Marple Episode "4.50 from Paddington" with Geraldine McEwan and John Hannah. In Ready When You Are Mr. McGill by Jack Rosenthal, she starred alongside Bill Nighy, Tom Courtenay, and Aleha Dixon. Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams are judges on Britain's Got Talent. She was a judge on Britain's Got Talent from 2006 until the year 2006.
